TableRivals Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By scanning in, choosing a name, or tapping "Take a seat," you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What TableRivals is

TableRivals lets guests at a Venue play short skill games against other guests from their phones, and lets Venues offer rounds, credit, or prizes in connection with those games. TableRivals is a software provider. The Venue serves the food and drink; the Venue is responsible for what it serves and to whom.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 to use the service, and at least 21 to use any feature that involves payment, a round, credit, or a prize at a Venue that serves alcohol. You must be physically present at the Venue whose code you scanned. Venue staff may decline to serve a round to anyone for any lawful reason, including intoxication or lack of ID.

4. Rounds, payments, and credit

• Any charge to your card is made through Stripe. When you put a round or an entry up, we may place a temporary hold on your card; the hold is captured or released based on the game's outcome and the rules shown on screen before you confirm.
• Amounts, fees, and what the winner receives are shown before you confirm and do not change afterward.
• Credit awarded at a Venue can only be redeemed at that Venue for items on its menu, has no cash value, cannot be transferred, and expires 90 days after it is awarded. Credit cannot be redeemed for alcoholic beverages where the law prohibits it; the Venue decides what may be redeemed.
• If a Venue cannot fulfill a round, the charge is refunded or the credit returned. Refunds go to the original payment method.
• You are responsible for charges made from your device and your tab.

5. Fair play

Games are contests of skill. You agree not to use bots, scripts, modified clients, multiple accounts, or another person's account; not to collude with an opponent; and not to interfere with the service or another guest's game. Both players in a paid game are charged before play begins, and neither player pays the other. Games may be voided and charges released if a payment fails, a player disconnects, or fair play cannot be assured. TableRivals may disqualify a player, void a game, refund charges, or ban a device or account for violations.

6. Where paid play is available

Paid rounds, entries, and credit are available only at Venues and in jurisdictions where TableRivals has enabled them. Where they are not enabled, games are free to play for points and any prizes are provided by the Venue under its own promotion rules. TableRivals may change availability at any time.

7. Display names and conduct

You may choose any display name that is not obscene, hateful, threatening, impersonating, or otherwise inappropriate for a public leaderboard. Names are checked automatically and may be rejected or changed by Venue staff. Be a good sport.

8. Venue accounts

Venue owners and staff are responsible for their PINs, devices, and the actions taken from them, for keeping menu and price information accurate, and for complying with all laws that apply to their Venue, including alcohol and promotion laws. TableRivals provides software; it does not sell alcohol, set prices, or determine the legality of any promotion at a Venue.

9. Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided as is. TableRivals is not responsible for the quality or delivery of food or drink, for a Venue's conduct, or for outages beyond its control. To the fullest extent allowed by law, TableRivals' total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of California. Before filing a claim, contact us at hello@tablerivals.com and give us 30 days to resolve it.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. We may suspend or end access for violations or to protect the service.
